Brian Howard Memorial Fund

To friends and family near and far…

It is with our saddest of hearts that we are placed in the position of needing to write something like this. On Thursday, December 2nd 2021 Brian Christopher Howard was tragically taken away from us. Brian had been battling with depression and anxiety for far too long, but was taking proactive steps in bettering himself and was on the road to getting better. He was working with a psychiatrist and a counselor and attended Elgin Community College where he recently graduated from -- with honors. He was actively trying to be the best version of himself.

Anyone who knew Brian knew he was a joyful presence in any gathering, had absolutely no trouble making the room laugh, an avid Chicago sports fan, and possessed such a caring heart. He immensely loved and cared for both his mom, Kristine, and his dad (a former US Army helicopter pilot), Ken. Completely adored his twin sister, Danielle, and older, yet significantly shorter, sister, Nicole. He also had an ever growing love for all of their family dogs -- Riley in particular being Brian’s absolute biggest fan.

The Howard family has been a beacon of light to so many. Putting roofs over the heads of people who didn’t have one and food on the table for friends and family members who needed it most. We are hoping to be able to minimize as much of the unexpected financial burden on the Howard family by raising money to help aid the costs of funeral expenses. Any amount, small or large, will be appreciated. Please hold the Howard family close to your heart during this difficult time of grief and healing, as they would do no less for anyone else struggling.

Any extra proceeds will be put towards the creation of a non-profit organization in Brian Howard’s name that will speak and practice efforts to reduce death by mental illness and proper police interaction.
