Brian Joseph Thompson
Donation protected
On Sunday, April 9th, a shocking tragedy occurred. A devoted father, loving son, and wonderful fiancé was involved in a devastating ATV accident. Brian sustained life-threatening injuries and was helivacted to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia were one of the country’s leading neurologist performed intensive surgery. Unfortunately, even with the best surgical team available, Brian is now paralyzed from the chest down. His condition is severe and paralysis is only one of the many hurdles Brian will have to face. As a result of the accident Brian is faced with many broken bones and needed reconstructive surgery. A bone fragment is also lodged in Brian’s aortic value in his heart.
For those who know Brian, they will tell you that his is a dedicated father, a hard-worker and a person who would do anything to help loved ones, friends and his community. His family is the pinnacle of his life. His fiancée, Jessica Alexander, is the loving mother of his two wonderful sons Ethan (2 ½ years old) and Lucas (7 years old). In the past, Brian and his family have always kept the children in a fun and active lifestyle. Lucas just started his second season of baseball and will certainly miss not having his father there to support him as he did so many times in the past.
Brian worked for a small Electrical and Plumbing company in Downingtown, PA. They offer great insurance but unfortunately the company does not offer short term or long term disability compensation. Brian’s family has a major financial undertaking with helping Brian recover and to also help sustain his home. As you may know, social security disability benefits can take up to a year to receive. Jessica has been a part time bus driver for the past five years and Brian has worked fulltime with additional work on the side to help support and raise their family.
Brian’s family and friends are reaching out to ask for your help. Not only will Brian face months of upcoming surgeries, rehabilitation and recovery but also modifying their home for handicapped accessibility. There are numerous modifications that the house will have to undergo. Ramps will have to be installed, doorways widened, and the bathroom modified for handicap accessibility are a few of the many upgrades needed to bring Brian home. Brian will be in Philadelphia for many months and his family is going to need your support to keep everything as normal as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to read about Brian and his family. For those who know and love Brian we greatly appreciate your assistance. For those who do not know Brian, please know that your donations are genuinely needed and greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much!
With Love,
Jessica, Lucas, Ethan and the Thompson and Alexander Family
