In 2015 my life took an unexpected turn that I never saw coming when I had to have surgery to remove majority of my colon due to toxic mega colon. After this surgery my body never was the same having to have multiple other surgeries due to bowel obstructions and other complications. If this year hasn’t been crazy enough I had to endure more surgeries with the first being June 22 to take down adhesions  and then on July 3rd my bowel would rupture and I had to have emergency surgery in middle of night in July 4. This surgery left me with a fistula in my intestine which drained through a hole in my stomach. Since July 3 I have been in hospital everyday except when I would get discharged come home and then end up back in hospital due to dehydration. I have NPO (nothing by mouth) since July 3 and have been on TPN and IV fluids through a port in my chest. During my time in hospital I had many setbacks from bacteria infection in my blood that made me very sick to a kidney stone. When I came home I went home on TPN and had to carry a bag with me everywhere. The hopes were this fistula would close on its own and I wouldn’t need another surgery however we found out it isn’t going close and I do need another bowel resection to fix this and that will take place tomorrow October 8th. The medical bills have been draining because insurance does not cover all of my care that I have and continue to have. Any donation given will go to help cover medical bills and support my family. This has been very straining on not only myself but also my wife, our children, and other family members.
