Update 6/09/2023:
Brian woke up, the vent was removed and he is holding his on. He still has a long recovery ahead of him. All the prayers and donations are greatly appreciated!

6/06/2023: Hello, my name is Timmy Williams and Brian Outen is my best friend, co-worker, and fellow firefighter brother. Our June 3rd work shift started off like all others. We were laughing, joking around and having fun. Then, around 2:45 a.m. June 4th, all the fun stopped; so, did Brian’s heart for several minutes. Brian suffered complete heart failure and was not breathing. Thanks to the quick response of the Wesley Chapel Fire Department, Union County EMS, and our local law enforcement team, Brian was brought back to us. But, not without major medical issues.
When Brian arrived at the ER, his bodily organs were shutting down and his outcome was not good. He is on total life support (the ECMO machine and the ventilator). Brian is fighting hard! The prayers are working, and he has a great support system, but he has a very long and hard road to recovery ahead of him. As we all know, the medical expenses alone are going to be astronomical; this does not even include his normal monthly bills that will need to be taken care of while he is recovering.
Brian is a single father of his beautiful daughter MaKayla Outen, a full-time employee of the UCPS system, and a part-time employee of Long View County Club. Brian has been a VOLUNTEER firefighter of Unionville Fire Dept. For over 30 years, Brian has COURAGEOUSLY served this community with honor and respect. Firemen never know what they will encounter on each call but proceed with the same level of commitment and devoted service, on every call. I now ask that our community, family, friends, brothers and sisters come together to help serve Brian and his family with honor and respect.
All funds raised will go directly to Brian Outen who is a brother and a best friend. It will be used for his medical expenses, living expenses, and all other day-to-day expenses needed to keep him, and his family focused on his recovery. If you are not able to give a donation, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
