Brian Richards Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Over the Memorial Day weekend, my brother, Brian Richards, was involved in a swimming accident in Vancouver. On May 30th, the day of the tragic accident, Brian and Jasmine Patterson were married. On the Evening of May 30th Brian suffered a catastrophic break of the C4 and C5 vertebrae, initially leaving him paralyzed from the shoulders down. Brian was in a hospital in Canada for over a month, until he was well enough to be flown back to the United States for treatment. After some time in Alabama, he is currently in a rehab facility in Chicago, where he receives intense therapy. During his rehabilitation he has begun to move both arms slightly, around 6”. This is nothing less than a miracle and we are continuing to pray for more movement as we go along. Brian’s injury has been a shock for all his family, friends, colleagues, and patients. Before this accident, he was a very independent and hardworking man. He was always giving back to his community and helping those in need. Now it is Brian who needs help. Brian’s care will require a lot of equipment in his home along with a wheelchair accessible van to get him to and from doctor and therapy appointments.

Our family is starting this fund because there are so many things that Brian will need, and insurance just will not cover. If there is any way that you can help or support, we do appreciate it. Please continue to pray for Brian and his family through this challenging time. Your prayers are working!
