Brian Sheldon and Family

Brian Joseph Sheldon, 54, a life-long resident of East Dorset, passed away on Friday, February 17th. A true Vermonter, Brian pursued hobbies rooted in nature. His most loved activities included gold panning, metal detecting, fishing, hunting, and teaching others about his passions. He had a long and successful career for the Boars Head brand, most recently under Davis Deli Provisions. He was highly respected by his colleagues and clients, and known for his integrity, work ethic and dedication to his job.

In October of 2022, Brian suffered a medical event that led us to find out that his previously treated melanoma had metastasized to his brain and lungs. He received radiation and several immunotherapy treatments, and was battling the side effects for several months when Brian found himself in the hospital on January 11th, 2023. He stayed at Albany Med until being transferred to hospice care at his brother’s home. He was there for two days, able to see all of his loved ones and say goodbyes before he passed away in the early morning on Friday, February 17th. He will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Despite his strong will and determination, his medical bills and expenses have piled up over time and have left our family struggling to cover the costs.

We are now turning to the kindness and generosity of others to help us with these medical funds. Any amount of donation would be greatly appreciated, and it will help us pay off the remaining medical bills, cremation costs, and other expenses that have accumulated over the course of his treatment.
