Brian's Eagle Scout Service Project
Hello!
My name is Brian Miller, and I love skateboarding. I could rant and rave with lurid detail of my relationship with skateboarding, however, I will spare all of you the time.
I am also a current Boy Scout, striving to reach the rank of Eagle Scout. As a part of this endeavor, I was tasked by the BSA to choose a service project that would benefit my local community.
When I initially started this lengthy journey, I tried to build slacklining stations in various Delaware State Parks. However, due to "safety regulations" (they always get ya!) my project was abandoned after a year of effort. With only a measly year left to complete the project, I embarked on a much tougher journey than I had anticipated, and have since landed on building skateboard ramps.
I am beyond excited to be able to give back to the skateboarding community by giving these ramps to the Brandywine YMCA Outdoor Hanby Center.
Fortunately, now I am able to aid a community that I love, while doing work that is both rewarding and fun. I am extremely grateful to be able to complete the project.
However, I have a staggering paucity of funds currently.
My wopping zero dollar an hour pay check simply isn't going to be able to cover the $1500-$2000 project.
I need your help to be able to continue my journey to Eagle, help the community, and instill a passion for skateboarding in the youth of our community.
By donating to Sharing the Shred, you are helping the local skateboarding community grow and prosper.
All donations, no matter the size, are greatly appreciated! Excess proceeds will go to the Brandywine YMCA. I love all of you!
Thanks~
Brian
