The current state of Eyeball
Our brother and friend, Brian “Eyeball” Gallagher, has recently encountered some serious medical hurdles with regards to the health of his heart and liver. As you can imagine, difficulties with either piece of such essential equipment would be challenging to a person’s mind, spirit and soul.
What has transpired!
Unfortunately, Brian and his family have been forced to manage the repair and recovery of both major organs at the same time. It goes without saying that such a double whammy has caused a great strain on their emotions, realities, as well as their finances. Imagine a mile in their moccasins for a moment!
How can we help Brian?
If all goes according to plan, Brian will be traveling to the Mayo Clinic for his treatment over the coming weeks. The good news is that Brian will be taken care of by medicine's finest professionals in a renowned medical hospital. The hard news is that Brian and his family will be accruing not only large medical bills but also other extraneous costs. These extraneous costs will be in the form of:
- travel expenses for his family to and from Minnesota
- loss of Brian's wages to support his two young children while on indefinite work leave
- the accumulated medical and extraneous costs incurred to this point

My wife, Breda Boyle, was a very close friend of Christine Gallagher, Brian's sister. Breda and I attended Brian's wedding reception at Bear Mountain. We were lucky enough to get permission from Mr. "Pop" Gallagher to name our second daughter, Christine, in honor of Brian's sister and my wife's close friend. Most importantly, Pop and Doug have been to my house and know where I live.
