Brian's Medical Fund
Donation protected
Brian McKenna, originally from New York, was brought to Salt Lake City by the allure of the mountains and a passion to live life to its fullest. From skiing, hiking, biking, climbing, and any other conceivable outdoor adventure sport, Brian spent his free time enjoying the unique beauty of his surroundings and finding joy in everything that he did. He is known for being a true friend to all and his presence instills happiness in everyone around him.
In June of 2015, Brian suffered a tragic mountain biking accident that left him on ventilator support and paralyzed from the neck down. Despite his long and difficult journey through rehabilitation, Brian has maintained the part of him that people are so drawn to: his unparalleled appreciation of life and a commitment to find beauty everywhere he looks and in every situation. Although his journey is far from over, he will once again return to the mountains that made him feel alive with the TRAILS adaptive sports program at the University of Utah Hospital. In the meantime, Brian continues to require 24-hour caregiver support, adaptive equipment, and other medical needs. Help support him by donating to his cause. Thank you.
This fund raiser is being managed by the parents of Brian McKenna, temporarily residing in Salt Lake City,UT to be with their son. Funds raised will be used to purchase a wheel chair accessible van and begin to cover the cost of full time professional nursing care in the home. His parents will be using the donated funds to directly cover these expenses.
Sincerely,
- Friends of Brian McKenna
