Brianna's Fight Against Cancer

As many of you know in February of this year, Brianna was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. She had a colon resection, and began chemo on March 27th. After five long months, she finished chemo on August 27th. She went for her follow up CT scan on September 26th, and the oncologist asked her to come in 2 days later. The scan showed a new mass in her pelvis that was not previously there. She had a PET scan, and unfortunately it was confirmed to be cancer. The tumor is growing rapidly, and has now started to push on her lumbar spine. She was referred to a surgical oncologist in San Antonio at the Cancer Care Institute, he will perform surgery Wednesday, October 24th. She will postoperatively remain in the hospital for at least 3-5 days. They will send the tumor to pathology, to see what choice of treatment is best. If the course of treatment is chemo, she will either have to do treatments in San Antonio, or at MD Anderson in Houston. Brianna is only 26, and has such a long life ahead of her. She is so loved, and has a huge army of family and friends behind her in this fight!! We are so thankful for all of you!!!
