Brianna's Brace

For two years Brianna suffered from terrible grand mal seizures every day. They interfered with all aspects of her life. When she was 6 years old, Brianna had a hemispherectomy, a procedure to remove the half of her brain that was causing seizures. She will always walk with a limp, and she will never regain fine motor control over her left hand. Similar to a major stroke victim, she had to learn to do everything all over again. Things like walking, running, and even holding a cup in her hand have taken a lot of time and patience. Just over 3 years later, she is doing incredibly well! She is an amazing and inspirational young girl. Unfortunately, the brace she has now to help her walk causes her a great deal of pain and gives her severe blisters.  
We are trying to raise money to get her a Bioness System, a type of brace that uses small electrodes to stimulate the muscles when she walks. The use of this system will even allow her to wear regular shoes, something she very much longs for. Our insurance has denied the request for a Bioness because she already has a brace even though it hurts her, won't help her create new neuro pathways in the long run, and only allows her to wear large hiking boot type shoes since it's so bulky. We are asking for help because we have tried everything else to get her this Bioness system. Both of my parents served in the army and my Dad works full time in order to provide for our family. We just cannot afford to get her this brace on our own, and we so desperately want to get this for our daughter/sister. She has been through so much and we just want to see one aspect of her life become a little bit easier.
