Hi everyone!  Welcome to my GoFundMe to raise money for my future laser acne scar removal surgery!  I've been on accutane for just about 80 weeks now and I'm so grateful for the fact that I've had such severe acne!  It's faced me with a long, hard journey with the MOST amazing supporters to build my character and really show me who I am!

I created my Accutane Adventure series to chronicle my week-by-week process of using the medication (from 20mg up to 160 mg then back down to 20mg) to help others who were on the same journey or where considering beginning treatment.  During this journey I was able to touch so many lives and help so many people, it made me realize that my true purpose in life is to serve and help others!  :)

Last week when I checked in with my dermatologist he said that he wants me to undergo laser surgery to remove the last portions of my acne (candida, the small blackhead bumps) and  dissipate my acne scars that have developed from cystic acne. The problem was that the operation costs roughly $1000 so at the time I told him I'd have to let him know if I could save up for it.  In the last episode of my Accutane Adventures, after talking about the surgery, there was an astonishing amount of amazing people who were willing to donate to help me get te surgery so that brings us to now, my GoFundMe for laser surgery :)  Here's a short summary of my Adventures!

This was the beginning of my Accutane journey, 4 weeks in and honestly still pretty shy about my acne

With Accutane (Claravis, Oratane, etc.) you face something called an Initial Break, or IB in the beginning of your treament.  My IB began around week 8 and got progressively worse until around week 28.  I remember I would have a minimum of 4 cysts on my face at all times, I also remember it was literally painful to sleep on my certain areas of my face at night.

Around this time I attempted my first few blackhead removal surgeries and would often be left walking around with severely irritated face for full weeks at a time.  Unfortunately, the blackheads were coming back because we weren't far enough into the treatment at this time.

Towards the end of my first IB I was still battling new cysts every day.  I remember waking up every morning and walking to the bathroom every morning to check for what new cysts and acne had popped up overnight.  I always seemed to get multiple cysts/heads in the same area which multiplied the itensity of how they looked as you can see on my left cheek here.

Let's skip forward to week 38, my face was starting to really clear up!  I would get about 1-2 cysts a week (instead of a new one every other day) and they would disappear in about a third of the time!  At this point my cysts and redness were getting a lot better so I was able to see what I had to work on next, blackheads were definitely my next biggest enemy

Roughly 20 weeks later after getting monthly blackhead surgeries/removals, I was able to eliminate a lot of the deep blackheads that had been sticking around for years! I literally remember certain blackheads and problem areas being there for years and before his point of Accutane they were never able to come out!  As you can see I was still having new breakouts pop up every few days here but the skin was looking a lot smoother with less blackheads!  Now that the cysts were clearing up and there was a lot less blackheads it allowed us to see the scarring that had occured which is heavily held in my cheeks but slightly around the eyebrows and in the forehead a lot as well

Which brings us to now!  I've been tapered down slowly over the last few months to what is now 20mg/day of Accutane.  My face feels like someone elses, I wake up in the morning without fear of what might have popped up over night, it doesn't hurt to rollow over on my pillow, I only have maybe one or two zits pop up a week (feels so normal :D) and my outstanding blackheads have gone.  What I remain with is a large peppering of stuff called candida which is kind of like a blackhead without a top to push out of, so it ends up looking like a lot of colorless bumps on all over.  Also now that the redness and swellign is significantly improved it's much easier to see the scars left behind on my cheeks, forehead and the corners of my eyes.

I'm now rounding up the last 4-8 weeks of Accutane on 20mg/day (and then tapering to 20mg every other day), it's amazing what this drug has done for me and I'm so thankful for the person that my acne and documenting my battle against it has made me :)

If you decide to donate to any amount to my surgery I don't know how I can express my gratitude to you in words.   It geniunely means more to me than I can express that there are kind-hearted people out there who are willing to support me in such a direct way!   If you've supported me in any way (commenting encouragement in the journey, sharing my videos, messaging me, etc.) I owe you the world and I hope that one day I get to meet each and every person that walked with me on Accutane Adventures!

To summarize, thank you so much for donating if you decide to, you will be allowing me to go through something I literally never thought I'd be able to do before, you are my heroes :)
