"Stand with Us on November 25th: Support the BridesMarch Against Domestic Violence in the Dominican Republic"
**<Español Debajo>**
Campaign Goal
Our goal is to raise funds for transportation, meals, and essentials to participate in this year’s BridesMarch at the Universidad Autònoma de Santo Domingo, and accessible for everyone joining us in the Dominican Republic. Your support will make this day a powerful gathering for families, survivors, and communities standing against domestic violence.
Campaign Story
Come Together to March for Strength, Justice, and Change on November 25th
On November 25th, 1960, the Mirabal sisters were killed by dictator Trujillo in DR. The United Nations declared this day the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This November 25th, 2024, Santo Domingo's UASD University in the Dominican republic will be hosting their annual Brides' March on campus.
This movement was born from the tragedy of Gladys Ricart’s death, and it has grown into a powerful, international force for ending domestic violence. For over two decades, we have marched in her memory—and in honor of all families and survivors impacted by violence. This year we hopento emgage with all the organizers nationally and globally hosting Brides'Marches. We hope you will help us reach our fundraising goal to support us in expanding our reach.
A Special Appeal for This Critical Moment
From now until the end of November, all donations to BridesMarch will be directed specifically toward our organizing in the Dominican Republic. Every dollar raised will provide transportation, meals, and essential resources to help people gather in solidarity. After November, we’ll return to our broader work—supporting survivors, advocating for justice, and organizing events around the world. But for now, building with our partmers in DR is our focus. We know it will be impprtant work that strengthens not just individuals but entire communities.
Why We Need Your Help
The BridesMarch has always been built on community. This year, we’re making sure that anyone who wants to stand with us in the Dominican Republic can do so without barriers. Many participants are traveling long distances, and we’re asking for your support to provide transportation, meals, and supplies so that they can arrive safely and participate fully.

$50: Engagement and support for families of recent femicide victims like Yisset Carmona, age 35, who lost her life on November 6th in Villa Altagracia.
$100: Helps secure venue, speakers, videographer, and educational flyers to distribute to community members during the march.
$250 and above: Funds essential supplies, venue and security
Every dollar helps make this BridesMarch a meaningful and accessible experience for all, honoring the resilience and courage of survivors and their loved ones.
The Impact of the Brides' March
Each year, the BridesMarch reminds us that there is strength in numbers and power in community. We march to honor those lost to domestic violence and to demand a safer, more compassionate world. This movement is built on resilience, love, and unity—and on November 25th, we hope to turn the Dominican Republic into a place of healing, strength, and hope.
