Help us bridge the divide using multi-racial dialogue

Donation protected
My name is Diane Wong, founder of the Racial Justice Collaborative. I have dedicated my life to advancing racial justice for Black Americans and all communities through openness, healing, and collective growth. At the heart of our work are honest, multi-racial conversations where every voice is valued, fostering liberation from the deeply rooted myth of white supremacy.

I invite you to support our transformative 2025 events through your generous contributions and to join us as a participant. Together, we can create spaces for personal and collective transformation—empowering each of us to become the person we were always meant to be.

About RJC events
For the past 5 years, the Racial Justice Collaborative has been hosting online events with multi-racial participants about varying aspects of race and anti-Black racism. Our Black-led, multi-racial team is dedicated to engaging with and supporting our growing community on their inner journeys with race and racism through open dialogue. We have expanded our work to facilitate race-based and DEI workshops and programs with community partners while continuing to offer free and donation-based events to the public.

What we do
The nationwide boiling rage and passion following George Floyd's violent murder at the hands of a white policeman has been reduced to a simmer and put on the backburner for most non-Black people, but of course we have not yet won the fight for equity and justice for Black Americans or Black people globally. The world still runs on the myth of white supremacy. Since George Floyd's murder, we've heard countless stories of police violence against Black Americans, and now we're hearing racist tropes from major political candidates to instill fear of Black immigrants. Why is that? At the RJC, we provide a platform to discuss these tough topics together in a multi-racial group in real time. We provide a safe, open, compassionate space to have tough conversations about race and racism via our free and donation-based online events. Our events team consists of skilled team members who specialize in facilitation, American history, education, and technology in order to continue to provide the high-quality educational content, skilled facilitation and necessary technology that our audience deserves and expects.

What we need
Our donations have dwindled over the past couple years - as is true for many racial justice and Black-led organizations. We are raising $3,000 before the end of the year to pay for our planned online events in 2025. These funds will go to our events team who facilitate the small and large group discussions, create educational videos that often introduce the event topic, and manage the technical aspects of our online events behind the scenes. Our team often volunteers their time for these events which puts a strain on our team members and makes it difficult to execute our events with the high standards we have for ourselves. We have at least 6 events planned for 2025 including our main, popular Juneteenth event. Our Juneteenth event will be a major workshop where skilled facilitation is required, and the remaining 5 events will be more informal led by varying RJC team members.

When we looked at our event data, we noticed that donation totals have decreased at our donation-based events and attendance is higher at our free events. Thus, we have decided that our 2025 online community events should be free. In order to do this, we need your help to ensure that we can pay and secure our team for our planned events. Please show us your support by making a donation (big or small) so we can reliably run at least 6 events in 2025.

Our events transform
Over the last 5 years, we have heard from many participants at our online events that these events have changed their lives and helped them on their journey of racial education and healing. We believe that reconciliation, reparations and healing our racial divide starts with multi-racial dialogue. The conversation is the first step. We need to continue to hold space for these heated and compassionate conversations.

Words from our participants:

"I use my privilege to hide, but I don't want to hide anymore." - White participant opening up about starting her journey towards racial healing

"[The workshops] are difficult, but really healing and rewarding." - Workshop participant

We ask you to support our community events with a big or small donation so we can continue to provide a platform for these vital conversations in 2025. And we invite you to join us at these events so you can contribute to our expanding multi-racial community, and we can grow and heal together.
