Bridgeland: Fish Habitat in Lakes
Donation protected
A group of Bridgeland residents presented an idea to WCID #157 to add fish habitat to some of the lakes in Bridgeland .Fish were stocked in the lakes when first built but we lack natural habitat to sustain the fishery. This proposal will provide habitat for laying eggs, food source for young and protection from predator along with providing structure to attract larger fish. The proposal included deploying the following: 60 PVC porcupine structures, cinder blocks, flagstone, and bull rock. A large group of Bridgeland residents will be deploying the structures. WCID #157 granted us $1,000 to purchase the materials to build 60 PVC structures. We are seeking resident donations of cinder blocks, flagstone, and bull rock. We are creating this fund to purchase additional 1/2" PVC needed for the porcupine structures and cinder blocks. This donation goes toward building a better Bridgeland lake fishery and ecosystem.
