Support Bridges Through Yoga!

Please help us provide foundational support for Bridges Through Yoga, an organization lead by James Orione, based in Minneapolis, MN.
What Bridges Through Yoga Does
James has the idea that the benefits of yoga, and in particular Yoga’s ability to help heal trauma, could be made more available to People of Color, and other marginalized communities. Importantly, while the barriers of entry can sometimes be financial, that is often not the case. Instead, the truth is that many times spaces in the yoga community are unwelcoming and/or intimidating for practitioners who identify as Indigenous People and People of Color, no matter their experience level.
James also believes that yoga can act as a bridge towards healing between people of different races. Yoga can create a softening, which creates the space required for difficult conversations to happen, which ultimately leads to mutual healing. James leads Yoga and Race workshops around the country that allow everyone to work on their empathic abilities, working to view the world as others see it.
What our support can help make happen
By coming together and providing support to Bridges Through Yoga, James will be able to hire professional instructors to bring yoga to the communities he most wants to serve, meeting them where they already are: In community centers, schools, residential treatment centers, parks, and social service agencies.
In addition, by providing this significant foundational support, James will be able to initiate “train the trainer” programs, allowing him to teach others how to use yoga to facilitate important conversations about race, between people of different races, for the benefit of mutual understanding.
We believe there is a clear need for this sort of work, and we graciously ask you to help us support James and his organization Bridges Through Yoga.
With Love and Gratitude.
