Many of you know that I went into kidney failure 10 years ago. Although over time my kidney function returned to a livable 60%. In the last few years I been having issues on and off again. In December of 2019, I became very ill, and my kidneys started having problems functioning, and have continued since then. Like before, my situation was puzzling to the doctors. I have been undergoing testing, and monitoring, and may require surgery to correct a suspected blockage; however, the nephrologist has told me that due to how unusual my situation is, additional testing and treatment may be needed and that I need to "get healthy" enough to ensure that I meet the criteria for options if necessary. Although I work, my insurance is not enough to cover the costs of the medical treatment I am needing, and will need in the future, and I am forced to ask for help to ensure that I can continue to get the medical treatment my life depends on. I need your help. Right now, I am in Phase 1 of fundraising and have accumulated over $6,500 not covered by insurance. After I have received diagnostics, I will have a better idea of what I am dealing with, at which point I start Phase 2. Phase 2 will be additional medical costs related to what they find (that I am not able to cover myself), and I will update my goal at that time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
