Brielle’s Protection Fund

Update: Brielle’s unemployment funds have stopped and she is struggling to find a new job. We are asking you today to  donate and share this GFM to ensure that all of Brielle’s needs are met and she is able to thrive. No trans woman should be having to deal with lack of funds, pour into Brielle as much as you can today. If possible, let’s make funding Brielle a monthly occurrence to support her life and work.

Welcome to Brielle’s protection fund, a fund set up to raise money for Brielle to live comfortably without fear of having to scramble for new employment. Brielle is a Black, trans woman, sister, daughter, friend, colleague, activist, advocate, and beloved leader in the community. Recently, Brielle was fired from her job at SunServe, an LGBTQ organzation, for speaking up and advocating for herself, her co-workers, and clients. Time and time again, Brielle’s supervisors would reject and ignore her requests for basic needs and support while writing her up for sexist and racist reasons (ex: “unprofessional” outfits).


Black Trans Women are historically and systemically underprotected, even at organizations that tout themselves as being LGBTQ advocates. Considering our country is in a state of emergency, due to COVID-19, and the ever rising murders of black trans women, firing Brielle was violent, unethical, and unjust. Brielle also suffered the recent death of her cousin due to systemic neglect.


We are calling on all people who say they support Black Trans women to put your money to good use by making your contribution urgent and reocurring. Black Trans Women deserve to be protected, uplifted and cherished. Brielle is a gift to our South Florida Community. Your donations will ensure she will be able to pay for all of her expenses for at least the next 3 months. It will give Brielle the comfort and stability to take care of herself and focus on healing. This fund raiser will then continue with the intention of continuIng to fund the radiant and essential life, and work, of Brielle.


Our goal is to have at least ⅓ of our stated goal secured by the 1st. That is $3,300 by Saturday, August 1st. Please support by donating much as you are able and sharing this page. Thank you for your support and remember, know every single donation counts, whether it’s $1, $100 or $1,000.
