Seth and Stacey Landwehr got the devastating news all parents fear of getting... truly every parent’s worst nightmare. “Your son has stage 4 cancer”.
Brigham’s primary neuroblastoma tumor is located above his left kidney, on the adrenal gland. Unfortunately, it looks to be size of a softball, so a fast surgery is top-of-mind. They plan to remove the mass completely and send it for testing/biopsy, along with adding a central line to aid with future treatment and blood draws. The expected hospital stay is 3-7 days. As soon as Brigham’s body is ready for it, the secondary lesions located on bones throughout his body will be treated via chemotherapy, and possibly stem cell transplant, immunotherapy and antibody therapy. It is expected that he spends a month or two in Chicago at some point during the anticipated 1 year+ of treatment.
We gather around this family with our fellow prayer warriors and ask God to completely heal Brigham and bring comfort to his family during this difficult time. His two older twin sisters, Amelia and Charlotte, parents Seth and Stacey, loving grandparents and extended family have had their lives turned upside down. We pray for comfort in their hearts and that they feel God’s tender touch as He wraps them in His healing arms.
In addition to continued prayer, if anyone wishes to help financially, in any amount, it would make such an impact. The last thing Seth and Stacey need is to think about their finances as they go through this difficult time, with countless days, weeks and months off work during Brigham’s treatments. We thank each and every one for your thoughts and prayers! They feel the support and are ever so grateful not to feel alone during this time.
