Brighten Holidays for Anoka County Families

Since the '80s, the Christmas Committee has been providing a holiday meal for needy families in Northern Anoka County, Minnesota. We coordinate our efforts with Toys for Joy and serve approximately 1,000 families. Parents can "shop" for toys and then get a holiday basket of food (see photo) that includes a turkey or chicken, potatoes, apples, and a variety of food. Various schools in Anoka-Hennepin School District #11 organize food drives to provide non-perishable items; however, funds are desperately needed to purchase the perishable foods.
