Hi Everyone

 

My name is Briley Jo I was born at 23 weeks in April 2021. I spent 4 months in the NICU. I was on a vent for 2 months and came home on oxygen. I have been home since August 2021. I am doing amazing and continue to beat the odds, but since I’ve been home I have had two hospital stays, lots of expensive testing and at this time I have two pending surgeries. I am followed by my Pediatrician, Neonatal, Neurology, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Ophthalmology, Physical Therapy, Occupation Therapy, Speech Therapy and we may be adding G.I. Specialist to the mix soon. I have a heart defect, chronic lung disease, and I had grade 3 and 4 brain bleeds at birth causing brain volume loss. I also just learned I will be needing glasses soon. My mommy used to work as a Branch Manager at a local bank, but gave that up so she could stay home with me to help me grow and help me with my therapies. I’m currently off oxygen but have to keep it on hand because I like to do funny stuff when I’m asleep sometimes. My daddy is the only who is able to work right now, but my mommy and daddy always tell me how blessed we are and how things could have been so much worse.
