Bring a Little Free Library to Forest Lakes
Donation protected
Forest Lakes neighbors are raising money to purchase a Little Free Library (LFL) for our neighborhood in Green, Ohio. The neighborhood's HOA management company has already approved the LFL for installation near the pavilion and playground, but it is up to the neighborhood to provide the funding. LFLs build community, inspire readers, and expand book access for all.
Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization. According to their website, "A Little Free Library is a free book-sharing box where anyone may take a book or share a book. They function on the honor system. You do not need to share a book in order to take one. If you take a book or two from a little library, try to bring some to share to that same library, or another in your area, when you can." This can be used for both children and adults. There is even an app that can help you find LFLs all over the world!
The plan is to raise money now so that the LFL can be purchased in February or March and installed in April. We are hoping to purchase the Composite Two Story Kit LFL and Composite Library Post Kit so that our LFL is attractive, resists pests and moisture, and lasts for many years to come. The box kit costs $389.95 and the post kit costs $129.95. There is also a $53.64 shipping charge for the kits. We will have neighborhood volunteers help assemble and install the LFL to avoid extra costs.
Please consider donating and sharing so we can add this wonderful feature to our neighborhood. Thank you!
