Bring a US Veteran home
On March 5th a group of us went on a Panamá Canal Cruise. On March 13th one of our group fell ill in Guatemala. The doctor on board advised he needed more attention then they could provide and he was taken to a local hospital. Since then his wife has tried unsuccessfully to get him back into the states. The Guatemalan hospital continues to ask money before he can be moved. So far his wife has paid over $10,000 and still no cooperation from them. The US embassy said they do not get involved in medical issues. Jim is a veteran and deserves better than this. Is there anything you can do to help? His wife Mary Lynn has contacted the mayor of Vancouver and they advised they were waiting for the American consulate to help. Jim is not improving and these "delays" are not helping.
