Bring a veteran home for end of life care




    James McCarthy is a veteran of both the US Navy and US Army. He is a 93 year old father, grandfather, and great grandfather who is very loved. His request is to pass away at home but he is unable to get help from the VA and his insurance is proving to be limited in covering his needs.  Grandpa Jim needs ambulatory assistance to return home from the hospital and to receive end of life comfort care from his daughter, who had to take an unpaid work leave to support him. Grandpa Jim has limited finances to draw from. James’ family would appreciate any support to respect his end of life wishes to pass at home.




    James’ youthful nature has made him an active playmate to the youngest family members even into his 90s.  James loves music and played both the drums and saxophone.  He still has an impressive record collection. His sharp memory allowed him to share stories of his time in the service and related travels, some of which were recorded by his grandson Greg and shown in attached photos. However much he valued his time in the service, he most loved his home in Scituate, MA that he shared with his wife, Rose, and raised his family during their 60 plus year marriage. His “lovely Rose”  is waiting in Heaven to guide him home.
