Bring Antwan Home: Support for Kiara's Family

I am starting this GoFundMe for one of my dearest friends, Kiara, and her family. She has unexpectedly lost her one and only brother Antwan. He was found shot to death in his apartment in Washington DC.

If you know me, you know that Ki and I are two in one. Our friendship first began back in 2018. Since day 1, I have seen Ki always face many challenges that life has thrown at her. Kiara has always tackled these challenges head on never knowing how or when she would get through the hurdle. All while dealing with her own setbacks, Ki has always been there for me and everyone else that comes into her life. Ki is a helper and always there to make things better. Whether you need a listening ear or just a hug, she is always there.

Now I need to be here for her and her family and try to unload some of the stresses this tragedy has caused.

Antwan will be remembered as a loving son, big brother, family member, and friend to anyone he came in contact with. “Mom’s Thanksgiving baby” as Katrina, Antwan’s mom would say. Anytime anyone would come in contact with Antwan you knew you had a friend for life as he held onto relationships no matter how far or near he was. He was extremely family oriented.

Fast forward to today, a man set to accomplish life goals and get his life to where he wanted it to be, his life is cut short. How cruel can life be? A man devoted to God, a hard worker, and someone who had big things to accomplish, he is taken from his family and friends. He will never get to come back to Buffalo or watch another Bills game. He won’t be able to watch his little sister Kiara graduate and walk across the stage in May. He won’t be able to continue building those relationships with his family.

So many unanswered questions. So many why’s and what’s ifs. None of this makes sense to anyone. But what I do know makes sense is to help Ki out and her mom. Both of which have helped numerous families, have many ties to the community, and made an impact to a lot of people. Let us come together and get Antwan home as this was a wish he wasn’t able to fulfill.

My goal is to help bring him back to his family and support the many trips they will have to take to D.C as the investigation into this tragedy is still ongoing. I also want to get the funds to help this family lay this beautiful soul to rest and aide with any other support they deserve.
