This quote seemed fitting for us as we have been fighting a battle for over three years to start our family. We always knew that we wanted to have children, but God's plan and our plans weren't exactly the same. This became very obvious when, at the age of 30, I had to have a total hysterectomy which took away our dreams of ever having biological children.
In December 2015, we officially started our adoption journey. We are adopting from the China Waiting Child Program and have officially been matched with our son who we will name Asher! He is currently 2 years old and we are already in love with him!
God is already blessing us through this and have had a lot of family and friends come forward to help us. But adoption is very expensive! Some of the costs associated with adoption are: $6,000 for the agency fees; $4,000 for international fees; $6,000 for legal fees; $6,000 for orphanage fees; and $7,000+ for travel fees. And even though Jay and I are more than capable of providing financially for a child, like most people, we don’t have all of the $35,000 needed for our adoption expenses.
They say it takes a village to raise a child, but in our case it will take “our village” to help us bring our child home! Nothing is too small and any amount will help us get one step closer to holding a child in our arms! We so greatly appreciate anything you are able to do to support us!
