Bring Back Blazin' Burgers

Blazin Burgers was founded by a single mother and two daughters who had a dream, worked hard, and poured all of their savings into their first location in the beautiful community of Burbank, California. Our store in Burbank was a true labor of love and passion by three women, who by all accounts, were against the odds of success. That shows you what love, community support, and passion can do for anybody pursuing a dream. Our mother, Marilyn, had a passion for cooking her whole life and my sister and I were fortunate to grow up in a very health - conscious environment, yet always enjoyed the most delicious food thanks to the talent of our mother! One of our partners, Kathryn, had plans to attend law school, but instead chose to partner & pursue our family dream of cooking good food together and helping bring vegan food to the community that we loved so much. Of course, what was to come (global pandemic) no one could have predicted. With food costs skyrocketing almost on a daily basis, very difficult employment challenges, and incredibly long hours, these factors eventually took a toll on us financially and physically. Having no investors on this journey with us created further financial challenges, and ultimately we had to close our doors due to a combination of pandemic related factors & a lack of funding and financial support. Further complicating things was the fact that federal and local help was only available to businesses that had been up and running for two years or more. We watched many iconic restaurants in LA close down, but we were determined to finish our lease and provide a happy place with good food for our local clients. We were very proud that we were able to accomplish this. In addition to these challenges, our mother also developed "long Covid" after contracting it over the summer, and is currently making strides to recovery with the help of her two daughters. Toward the end of our lease, our mother fought everyday to be in our store and serve our great community, despite the enormous health challenges she was facing. We would like to open this GoFundMe because my sister and I would love to continue our dream of re-opening Blazin' Burgers; a store that brought us and our community so much joy and love. Our goal here is twofold: First and foremost, we must fundraise enough money to cover significant losses acquired while our mother was sick during the last few months of being open. As many of you know, we had to limit our hours and close quite often due to her health and inability to work. Next, if we are successful here, we would be honored to use any additional funding toward reopening a location in Los Angeles to continue serving great vegan food to our lovely Los Angeles community. We want to personally thank each and every one of you for the lovely DMs and for personally reaching out to us over the last several months. Your loyalty in following our journey has meant the absolute world to us, and we hope to see you all soon. We have missed you all dearly. Love always.
