Bring Back Shianne's Smile

Donation protected
A woman is taught to always check her breast and if something doesn't seem right to let her doctor know. Well that is what Shianne did in 2008 she knew she felt something and it didn't feel right. She was told from 2008-2018 that it was just fatty tissue and nothing to worry about. Finally in 2019 she told her doctor something just was not right and they finally offered to give her the first mammogram. They now said it was sebaceous cyst but still nothing to worry about.
A woman's worst nightmare is to hear those three little but powerful words from her doctor YOU HAVE CANCER. At that very moment when those words are said a woman begins to feel a million emotions. They never thought it would happen to them and they don't know what they are going to do. The emotions are doubled if that woman is a mother. Of course all the worse case scenarios go through a woman's head. Well unfortunately my best friend/sister in law  heard those words from her doctor on 4/20/2020 She has cancer. Of course she went through a million emotions, how to tell friends, how to tell family, what about her kids. The feeling of being scared and not knowing the next step. She also found out on that day not only did she have cancer but she had a very rare cancer that only 1 in a million get. Her doctors had never seen a case and were learning with her through the process.
The next week after that she had many appointments and then everything came to a screeching stop! Unfortunately because she was a full time student and the Covid-19 pandemic hit she did not have a job that had insurance. Medicaid wouldn't help her because her type of cancer (Dermafibrosarcoma tuberans) isn't classified as just solely breast cancer it is considered skin and breast cancer combined. Even though she needs to undergo a mastectomy and other surgery they would not cover it. So she was helpless and in a holding pattern as they tried to find a way to get insurance. So after almost two months they found some program she finally qualified for and scheduled her surgery. Well then the news came that the cancer had spread and she would have to have a double mastectomy. The program that she qualified for doesn't cover all the cost and all the surgeries that she needs. In  order for her surgery to continue in two weeks she needs 7,000 dollars to give the surgeons. She doesn't want to keep waiting because she doesn't want it to continue to spread.
So if you find it in your heart please make a donation so we can try and meet this goal. Anything you can send will be greatly appreciated. Those that know Shianne know that her smile and laugh is contagious. So let's help bring back the smile and take away the worry and sadness that has been caused from those three little words SHE HAS CANCER!
