Bring Back the Pound Cake Man’s Food Truck
Donation protected
If you live in the Upstate, odds are you are familiar with the Pound Cake Man. Jeff Bennett, the man behind the business, is known as much for his delicious cakes with cream cheese icing as he is for his big heart and warm smile.
In 2016, Jeff began selling his popular cakes out of his signature food truck. In subsequent years, Jeff and his family launched two brick-and-mortar locations of the popular bakery. For a variety of reasons, those businesses closed, but Jeff persevered and continued his livelihood through selling cakes out of his home and the truck.
Sadly, since the food truck was used as collateral for the family’s business loan, the bank recently repossessed the beloved food truck and will be auctioning it on Thursday, February 27.
It would be absolutely amazing if we could raise enough funds to buy back Jeff’s food truck. Let’s join forces (and piggy banks) and show the Bennett family how much they and their business are loved and valued.
Additional info:
- We have no idea how much the truck will go for.
- Jeff estimates the value around $60,000 but it will depend on who shows up and bids against us at the auction. Obviously, the more we raise the better our chances of success.
- If we are not successful in purchasing the truck the raised funds will be used to offset The Pound Cake Man’s legal fees and other expenses incurred in closing his businesses.
