Bring Dad back to the Tri-Cities!!!!
After a massive stroke on April 13th, my dad Robert (Bob, Lefty, Butch) Loper, was flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center. As always, dad has put up a great fight....a fierce competitor. As the battle ensues, he is expected to be placed in "inpatient hospice". Hospital bills, hotel stays, and associated costs continue to mount for mom and dad. They are now facing the daunting expense of a non-insurance covered ambulance to return him to his home town of the Tri-Cities, WA. Being close to his home/friends/family has always been one of dad's most important needs.
Knowing dad, he would be uncomfortable asking for any assistance; it's not the way he lived his life. I also know that he is a giving man to those who he feels deserves it, so he has experienced the warm feeling of being able to help others when in need..........so he can't get upset at others for wanting to help. :-)
I am trying to raise enough funds to cover the cost of the ambulance to transport dad back to the Tri-Cities. It is expected to cost upwards of $5,000. Knowing dad, he would say "No way are we paying that much! Just strap me to the roof of my Suburban....or roll me into my boat and just tow me". I doubt the hospital will allow that so we are stuck with this expense. Any help is much appreciated.
Love you all,
Shane Loper
