Keep 20 Orphans Fed and Housed
Donation protected
Shanitah runs Vera Levecchi Orphanage in Uganda. She provides for and takes care of 20 children, some struggling with HIV/AIDS and Sickle Cell Disease. This fundraiser is to help raise funds to feed, clothe, house and get medical treatment for them.
Vera Levecchi Orphanage helps these children have a safe and happy life, after being abandoned and traumatized by family. Many are orphans who have been rescued off the street. If they have living relatives, they were abandoned by them because they have a disease. Some were removed from households where step-parents neglected or abused them(because they weren't their biological child).
Though Shanitah has not been able to have a stable income with a job due to recurring medical issues, the best job she could get would only earn around $40/month. Therefore, donations are needed to provide for their recurring needs, such as:
Rent ($280/month)
Food ($250/week)
Electricity ($100/month)
Clothes/shoes ($200/month)
Medical visits/treatments for children ($250/month)

I speak regularly with Shanitah, so I will be sending the money raised to her directly through WorldRemit.

Sorry if the link name is confusing. For 1 month I changed the fundraiser to be for raising money for Christmas presents for the children. Now, GoFundme won't let me change it back. I've repurposed this gofundme fundraiser a couple times.
Below is the original fundraiser cause from 2021, which raised $5,898 in aid to get these children back on their feet after losing everything after a fire.

Shanitah runs Vera Levecchi Orphanage in Uganda. She provides for and takes care of 20 children, some struggling with HIV/AIDS. She does not own her own house/building for the kids, but has to rent a space from a landlord.
Tragically, a fire broke out in her apartment, destroying everything in its path. Though no one was injured, all the children have left is the clothes on their backs. They also have to sleep on the cold cement floor without blankets until they can get new beds.
The building provides little shelter from the cold at night, as the fire pulled down the roof. The landlord is allowing her to stay in the space, but is holding her responsible to pay for all damage. Immediate renovations to the building are needed to provide proper shelter for the children.
It is traumatic for the children to lack safe housing, clothing, and beds after they have already endured the trauma of being abandoned by family. Please donate as you feel led to help provide some security for these kids so they can live a normal life.
