Bring Clean Water to San Jose with Honduras Hope
Tax deductible
My name is Marianne and I am a board member of the non-profit organization, Honduras Hope. I first got involved with the non-profit many years ago after traveling on an inspirational volunteer trip with founder and director Rev. William Briggs. The experience of witnessing abject poverty in rural Honduras was completely staggering. Some of the things I saw and experienced were sad and heartbreaking, but seeing the work of Honduras hope was just as uplifting, hopeful, and inspirational. I witnessed small children suffering from horrible malnutrition and food insecurities that have been met head on with nutrition programs, health checks, and vitamins. The crippling lack of medical care met with a clinic, a nurse and medications. Children who live too far away from school to even attend, given a closer home to live in, the opportunity to graduate, and even continue onto college. Children who couldn't go to school because they didn't have a pair of shoes, or a uniform, now proudly attend.
An entire village that has had no electricity now has light.
Houses with mud floors and leaking roofs, getting repaired one by one. I witnessed Bill bring New England style town meeting
to the beautiful community center Honduras Hope built. Students who struggle in school, provided tutors. Young girls given the opportunity to attend a Girls Empowerment Program.
I could talk forever about Honduras Hope and the good work it does but I also have to talk about the things we desperately need.
For starters, we are a 100% volunteer organization. No one makes a single penny. All of the money (besides paying some tax folks) goes directly to the people we serve. We raise money from fundraising, churches, and small donations from individuals like you.
Why I am doing this Go Fund Me is to help us keep and expand our existing programs. We also are in the process of bringing clean water to the village of San Jose. We already have an engineer and the plans. We even have a small portion of the money, but it is not enough. It is so important that this project gets completed soon, as the children and people are suffering. The children are constantly sick with water born illnesses. We brought electricity Plan Grande. Please help us bring water to San Jose. Please consider a donation. You can go onto our FB page and our web site hondurashope.org for more information.
Thank you in advance, Marianne
