Bring Colin to Australia for his son's wedding
Donation protected
Colin is a 82 year old man who visited Australia from England before Covid, to visit his son who had just undergone heart surgery. Colin’s son, his only child, moved to Australia from England about 20 years ago and became an Australian citizen.
Colin’s wife died just over a decade ago. She left their only son her engagement ring in the hope that one day he would marry.
Their son met me, an Aussie single Mum. It took both of us a while to trust in love again, but we did, and he proposed to me with that very ring. We are planning a small ceremony with our family next year and want Colin to be part of it.
Starting over in a new relationship in your 50s isn’t easy. Blending families and the cost of living is creating a lot of pressure. Financially, it isn't a great time to get married, but Colin is in has some significant health issues, so we have some urgency.
Colin doesn’t have any living relatives in England. We are all he has.
We are hoping to raise money for Colin's airfare and surprise him with a ticket for Christmas.
Additionally, if he does come, we want him to stay with us, but our bathroom is not suitable for his limited mobility needs. We have a tiny original bathroom with a shower hose mounted over a small bathtub. We need to remove the bathtub and create a free-standing shower space.
Any donations would be really, really appreciated. Even though Colin is in his 80s and his son is in his 50s, to see your only child marry is a special occasion, and especially for Colin to witness one of his wife's last wishes.
I do not have social media which is why you have seen the piece of paper. If you cannot afford to donate but could instead post on your socials I would be truly grateful.
If you could spread some Christmas cheer with even a small donation, it would be appreciated more than you will know.
