Bring Dan Lord's Book to the Screen!

Hello! I'm Dan Lord. I'm the frontman and co-songwriter for the quirk-rock, pop-punk band, Pain, now known as Salvo. We've produced loads of songs over the years, such as Cartoon Network's Groovie for Jabberjaw ...Milk, In A Band , Fight, The Song of the Seven-Inch Cowboy, Bottlerocket War...Anthem for the Middle-Aged Man, Crime of the Century, Call My Friends ...you get the idea. Loads of songs. And we have the BEST, most supportive fans in all the universe, but many of them don't know that I'm also a novelist, or that I've been crafting a trilogy of fantasy-thriller novels since the early 1990s. Some of you may already be familiar with By the Downward Way , the first book in the trilogy. I have a crazy, head-over-heels love for these books, and I truly mean that in the most unselfish, non-prideful way: they aren't just an art project for me, but something objective and living, almost like having a child, or a spouse, who you just want to see flourish for their own sake. It doesn't matter to me that I've devoted decades of my life to them, for no money. I've even written an entire suite of orchestral music for them that no one has ever heard! I've also been developing a screenplay; it's all part of an ongoing, passionate desire to keep trying to bring this story to as wide an audience as possible.

Which brings me here. Very recently, a production company asked to see my script for the pilot episode, which I gladly presented to them. And they LIKE it. After discussing it with them, here's what I'm shooting for: a live-action, By the Downward Way series, on a streaming network. I'm confident it can and will happen, but it needs seed money, to pay for executive production services that will bring the whole thing into alignment with a studio, a cast, a crew, etc., to then be sold to a streaming network. These services will cost me $9,500. That's a huge pile of money for a working-class mutt like me. So, I need your help. I have nothing to offer you--no rewards, no prizes, no incentives beyond the satisfaction of helping to make a good story come to life for everybody to enjoy. I was also thinking that I could add all contributors to the credits somewhere, as part of a By the Downward Way Guild. Here's the thing, though: our deadline is less than four weeks away. Please help! If you can, of course. I know there are lots of worthy causes out there that need financial support, so remember that even a small contribution helps bring By the Downward Way a little closer to your TV screen!
