Support Dorothy Semple During Her Hospice Care & Beyond

Hi, my name is Stephanie and this is a fundraiser for my aunt, Dorothy Semple, and her family. Dorothy's cancer has taken a turn for the worse and she is currently hospitalized in Pittsburgh. They are in the process of planning hospice services for her.

Her husband and family would like to bring her closer to home in the Huntingdon area, but the financial piece is a huge deterrent as her insurance will not cover it and there is a hefty upfront payment required.

My hope is that the fundraising efforts will support the family in getting Dorothy closer to home and help with ongoing costs.

I am also coordinating the donation of gas, restaurant, and hotel gift cards to provide the family for travel and food expenses. They will continue to travel back and forth for appointments, as well as hospitalizations when needed. In addition, Dorothy has children and grandchildren who are traveling to visit her, both from out of town and to wherever she is when in the hospital. Timothy, Dorothy's husband, will be spending much of his time with Dorothy regardless of where she is receiving hospice care. Her family wants to spend as much time as possible with her especially with her condition worsening, resulting in more frequent travel. The gift cards will ease the burden of the associated costs of gas and eating out for meals, as well as take some of the pressure off to prepare meals.
