Honoring a life well Lived Elvira Sosing James

Donation protected
Dear Friends,  this is the story of my best friend Elvie Sosing James and her incredible life lived.   I write this with abundant love to honor her memory and the beautiful human being she was.

Elvie and I were best friends for more than 20 years.  Two single moms of handsome boys that were best friends since kindergarten.  Because of them, Elvie and I became best friends for life. We took our boys on vacations, traveled, shared stories, secrets, daydreams, and hopes as we raised them together.  We struggled and cried and most of all we laughed and held each other up.

In early January, Elvie became critically ill with Covid 19.  She fought long and hard and came out of the ICU three times. During this last crisis,  Elvie succumbed to the illness, her body could not withstand any more.    When I first wrote this story we (her son, her husband, myself, and her family) were working to raise funds to bring her home to get her the best healthcare for her recovery.   We came close by securing an air ambulance and a critical care bed.  Unknowingly to us, God needed another Angel and called Elvie home on March 12th.  We want to bring her home now to rest in peace.

Elvie was the kindest, most beautiful, and loving soul imaginable who touched the lives of hundreds of people.  Her Family and values were the pillars of her life. She opened her heart, her home, and kitchen to everyone.    She was a lover of God who brought warmth, love, light, and happiness everywhere she went.

She came to Canada on her own, without knowing anyone to follow her dreams and carve a life for herself.  During that wonderful life, she helped five nieces come to Canada, became a committed member of her community and church, and made many many friends along the way. She gave birth to her son Patrick at 45,  went back to school and graduated with honors at 50,  fell in love, and had her fairy tale wedding at 65. Elvie showed the world that age is not a boundary and everything is possible when you have desire, pereservernace, and faith for what can be.

This go-fund-me is a way to unite family and friends internationally to support the Sosing-James family during this extremely difficult time.   As Elvie did not have life insurance all funds sent and those to come will help to cover the cost of Elvie's transportation back to Ottawa,  funeral arrangements, internment needs, and a memorial that will allow us to celebrate her life together in the near future.

For those who donated initially to bring Elvie home, the Go fund me team will be connecting with everyone privately to determine  how you wish to proceed with what you have donated.

Additional goals we want to accomplish:
Organize a dinner and golf tournament in Elvie's honor
Establish a scholarship for emigrated single Women  who want to build a new life in Canada

Additional ways you can help:
Send cards and expression of love to Jeff and Patrick (email me for their address)
Send prepared meals to her husband during this difficult time as he is grieving

From the words best said by her niece Regina, "Auntie Elvie, we will remember your megawatt smile, warm embraces, and great company"!  God bless and thank you for your support.

With much love XO Marney
