Bring Home Baby Duggan
Donation protected
Over the years we have witnessed the excitement that our friends, family, and neighbors have experienced with growing their families. The amount of love expressed by these proud parents is incredible and we have felt so lucky to share in this joy. We kept telling ourselves that would be us “someday”.
As time went on, “someday” kept its distance from us. There were times where we could almost see the light at the end of the tunnel, a mere glimpse of hope that would earn us the title of Proud Parents. Unfortunately, “someday” always seemed to slip away, but our desire to start a family has never diminished. After a miscarriage, a failed IVF attempt, and several IUI procedures…we always found a way to pick ourselves up and tell each other that we will have a family…“someday”.
We are not the first couple to encounter the challenges of starting a family due to infertility nor will we be the last. What some people may not know is that infertility is not a cheap obstacle to overcome. Our love and desire to start a family is stronger than the obstacles that have kept “someday” out of reach. We scraped together savings. We took out loans. We did whatever we could to keep “someday” within reach. When we decided to pursue adoption, we knew the financial implications that came with the adoption process. With each new adoption fee, it became clear that we couldn’t do this alone. Rather than shying away from the looming financial challenge ahead of us, we decided to face this head on and let the world know that we need help.
It’s a little scary being this vulnerable and putting our story out there for everyone to read. But we put our fears aside for one simple reason…the people in our lives are absolutely amazing!
We hope that you will consider donating to our GoFundMe and help us bring Baby Duggan home.
Without invoking the mental image of Sarah McLachlan singing in the background while reading this, we want you to know that any donation helps bring “someday” a little bit closer.
