Bring Home Old Eng.#2
Donation protected
Help bring back Engine #2 to it's original home. Back in 1962, the "Village of Qualicum Beach" purchased a brand new 1962 Ford F-700 fire truck. Engine #2 was the very first new piece of equipment Qualicum Beach bought for the fire department and for years, Engine #2 was the first on scene, protecting Qualicum Beach, our people and our infrastructure.
Engine #2 was then retired from service, where it sat at our Public Works yard and aged in place. In 2018, the Town sold Engine #2 for $1, to a hobbyist who restores old fire trucks. Engine #2 is now fully refurbished, new paint and new letters that boldly say "Village of Qualicum Beach". I have organized with the buyer a 3 week period to publicly raise $6000 to bring Engine #2 home.
Should we raise the $6000, Engine #2 will be donated back to the Town of Qualicum Beach, where it belongs. It is and always has been my goal to protect and preserve the history of Qualicum Beach and I strongly believe this piece of history deserves a place here, where it can be respected, preserved and enjoyed by all.
