Help Haneen's family in Gaza to evacuate to safety

Dear friends and kind supporters,

I am Haneen Alkabariti, reaching out amidst the ongoing war to convey a heartfelt plea on behalf of my family, which consists of seven members currently facing severe adversity and are forced to leave Gaza for our safety. We are urgently asking for your support to help us get to a safe place outside of Gaza.

Over the past 200 days, we have endured the harrowing experience of living under constant threat, facing death and doing nothing except struggling to survive. 200 days of losing loved ones, our homes, and everything we hold dear. I used to ask myself if we would still be alive the next day or not so we could go back to our homes. The bombings answered my question when it hit our house, and just like that, we lost our home and everything precious to us. We had hoped that we wouldn't be forced to leave, but there is no guarantee that we will be safe anywhere in Gaza.

Now our house is completely destroyed. It was a miracle to evacuate our house alive. We were forced to get out of our house under the bombings without taking one single thing from it. We left everything behind. The attached photo is of our beloved house, which became a pile of rubble.

Another tragic thing is that I could not save my kittens' lives. The attached photos are of my cute babies who died when our house was bombed. I wish I could have lost anything else in the world, and not lose them. Unfortunately, I've lost them in addition to losing everything. A person who has a pet understands what losing a pet means.

We have faced incredible challenges, including being displaced six times until now. The attached photo is our humble shelter. We are seven members living in this small shelter with no access to clean water, insufficient food, and no guarantee to stay safe.

Amidst this upheaval, our family faces the additional challenge of providing care for our 60-year-old father, who suffers from prostatic hyperplasia and diabetes. The ongoing conflict hinders us from securing the essential medication he urgently needs.

I am an 18-year-old girl trying to create stability for my family through this fundraising initiative. Unfortunately, the war not only robbed us of our home but also disrupted my university education, and my university was completely destroyed too! Despite these setbacks, I aspire to resume my studies abroad, a goal that hinges on your support.

Cost Breakdown:

- Rafah Border Crossing: 7 x 18+ year olds x $5,000 = $35,000

- Housing and living costs for up to 1 year, in hopes of the war ending by then = $1,000 x 12 months = $12,000

- Medical care in Egypt for our father = $200 x 12 months = $2,400 (unfortunately, due to public hospitals being at maximum capacity because of treating Gaza arrivals with conflict-related injuries, we could be forced to get our father treatment in a private hospital, which is why the cost is high).

- Unforeseen costs (transaction fees for getting the money to Egypt, tax related costs, transportation costs, etc.) = $3,000

GoFundMe fees: 2.9% = $1,520

Note: If any of the funds are not needed (e.g. if the unforeseen costs are less than expected) they will be used to:

1. Provide psychological support to our family to overcome the trauma of this war.

2. Continue the medical care for our father.

3. Help me complete my education, so I can provide for my family.
