Bring Humpty Dumpty Back to Cornelius

But the story doesn’t end there…

Dear Residents of Cornelius and beyond,

Several folks are still dismayed about the disappearance of Humpty Dumpty that once sat atop the Fairy Tale Book sculpture and greeted people along Catawba Ave prior to being presumably stolen in early 2023. This is across the street from Mark Twain, which sits on the bench across the street and in front of the Cornelius Library.

Recently, a few people reached out to Mayor Woody Washam regarding the missing Humpty Dumpty casting and through a series of a few emails with others in the town, found out that it will be possible for Humpty Dumpty to make a return and in turn, bring smiles to everyone that passes by. This is where you come in… we have contacted the original sculptor and got a price of $2500 to get a replacement Humpty Dumpty!! So we are asking you, the wonderful residents of the Cornelius area, that if you desire to bring Humpty Dumpty back to life, that you donate to this cause. All money raised will be used for this project and whatever money is leftover, will be used for other art exhibits around town as directed by the Town of Cornelius staff.
