Bring Improv to the World Parkinson Congress!

Dear Friends and Supporters,
I would like to ask for your support in bringing Improv for Parkinson’s to the 6th World Parkinson Congress in Barcelona this summer. As the Improv for Wellness Coordinator with Tightrope Impro Theatre, I’ve seen firsthand the benefits that learning the art form and skills of improv can provide for those living with Parkinson’s Disease.
My goal is to promote our Improv for Parkinson's program on an international platform and work towards our ultimate goal of giving every person in the world with Parkinson's a chance to try improv. The triennial World Parkinson's Congress provides a unique opportunity to connect with all members of the Parkinson's community, including scientists, researchers, healthcare professionals, people with Parkinson’s, and advocates, and to raise awareness of the benefits of improv for those with Parkinson’s.
As the Improv for Wellness Coordinator, I work to program and run our Improv for Parkinson’s classes, and I am the primary contact for students, teachers, and partners. In attending the Congress, and connecting with the international Parkinson’s community in person, new students and partners from around the world can associate a face with my name and learn what Improv for Parkinson’s is all about. It’s also an opportunity for me to learn more about the latest scientific discoveries and other care practices related to Parkinson’s, and bring that to the continued development of the program.
However, I need your help to make this happen. I need to cover the cost of flights, accommodation, and registration, and I’m asking for your support to make this possible. Your donation will not only help me get to the World Parkinson's Congress, but it will also help me in my work to evolve and grow the program so that we can continue to provide Improv for Parkinson's classes to as many people as possible. Learning the skills of improv has been shown to have a positive impact on the symptoms, mental well-being and quality of life of people living with Parkinson’s.
We believe that everyone with Parkinson’s should have the opportunity to experience the benefits of improv, and every donation, no matter how much, will bring us closer to achieving this goal. Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to keeping you updated on our progress!
Sincerely,
Rosemary Morrison
Improv for Wellness Coordinator, Tightrope Impro Theatre
Please note: Funds will go to Aamir Khan, acting Executive Director of Tightrope Theatre for the direct funding of costs related to getting me to the Congress.
