Bring Joy to Heather's Family During Cancer Battle

Hi, my name is Tonya, and I’m reaching out to share the story of my sister Heather—a woman who has faced more than her fair share of struggles with incredible strength and grace. Right now, Heather is in the fight of her life against breast cancer, and her family needs our help to bring a little light into their world. (I did get Heather’s permission before posting however she was very reluctant as she has never been the type of person to allow herself to ask for help, especially when she feels that there are always others who could use help more than her.)

Heather has always been the kind of person who puts others first. She’s a devoted mom to her almost 7-year-old daughter, Evyn, and has spent her life working hard to build a small business and provide for her family alongside her husband, Cary. Life hasn’t been easy for her, though. Over the years, she’s weathered storms that would break most people—financial hardships, personal losses, and now this life-changing diagnosis. Through it all, she’s kept her head high and her heart full of love for her little girl.

When Heather was diagnosed with breast cancer just over six months ago, it turned her world upside down. Tests and treatments started immediately, and the medical bills began piling up fast. At the same time, her family’s income was cut in half due to her continued inability to work and the mounting demands of her care. Cary, her devoted husband and an incredible father to Evyn, works tirelessly to keep their family afloat, taking on all the financial responsibility while supporting Heather through this cancer journey. Heather couldn’t be handling this as well as she is without him by her side, but he’s stretched thin, especially after a car accident yesterday totaled his work truck, adding even more strain.

Despite everything, Heather’s biggest dream has been to take Evyn on a magical trip to Disney World and Universal Studios. She’s been planning for years to give her daughter the chance to experience the wonder of being a princess—complete with tiaras, dresses, and fairy-tale magic—while Evyn is still young enough to fully believe in it. At almost 7, Evyn is still enchanted by princesses but is also transitioning into her Harry Potter phase, making this the perfect time for a dual adventure to both parks. Evyn’s birthday is coming up, and Heather wants this trip to be a special memory, especially now, when their family could use the healing joy this trip could bring them all.

This dream means more to Heather than most people realize. When she was 7, she went on a Disney trip with her own family that was so magical it’s stayed with her all these years—she wants that same unforgettable experience for Evyn. But there’s another layer to her determination: Heather has two older children, now adults, whom she always wanted to take on a trip like this but was never able to because of life’s challenges. She carries that regret deeply and feels like this is a must-do for Evyn—a chance she can’t let slip away this time.

That’s where you come in. We’re raising $10,000 to make this Disney and Universal trip a reality for Heather, Cary, and Evyn. This will cover travel, accommodations, tickets to both parks, and extras to ensure Evyn gets the full experience—think a princess makeover and a wand to wave at Hogwarts. Any funds raised beyond this goal will go directly toward Heather’s medical treatments and bills, easing the burden so she can focus on healing and Cary can catch his breath from carrying so much.
