Bring justice for #EndSARS young people in Nigeria
Donation protected
For years, young people in Nigeria have suffered at the hands of police brutality, excessive force and aggressive tactics which has made everyday life in many situations unbearable. The Special Anti-Robbery Squad are supposed to deal with cyber crime and fraud. Instead, they have been targeted professional young people, coders, developers, entrepreneurs, and profiling them as criminals without justification. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-54575219
After recent high profile incidents, some even including the tragic murder of innocent, targeted young people, the youth have taken to the streets to make their voices heard. Hundreds of thousands of young people have been lobbying politicians and peacefully exercising their right to have their voices heard. The #EndSARS hashtag and subsequent campaigns have been trending.
Young entrepreneurs and activists Dahunsi Oluwanifemi and Ife Alaba have teamed up with Adam Bradford from the UK (London), one of the Queen's Young Leaders, to make a change. This emergency fund provides aid and relief to young people who, already beaten down by the system, are spending days relentlessly protesting, making speeches and organising a movement which will spearhead change in Nigeria's political landscape forever. This fund will provide a basic stipend of 1000 NGN ($2.50 approximately) to fund that emergency kit for young people. Individuals must apply via this Google Form to be considered eligible for the donation. All donations will be tracked and reported per individual, distributed by direct bank transfer to prevent fraud.
This form completion ensures we know who the recipients of the fund are and all will be contacted by mail. We distribute the funding in batches of $5 to each person who applied via direct bank credit for every 100 submissions received on the Google Form.
Adam, Nifemi and Ife have already privately donated to launch the fund. Let us power youth-led activism and ensure real change is made to enable this generation to life safe, healthy and productive lives. Your contribution will help make voices heard and ensure that sanity prevails in Nigeria.
Funds will be held and then distributed via AdamStart Global Projects Limited, a not-for-profit organisation registered in the UK.
