Bring Kao Home

Everyone has been impacted by COVID-19 in some way, shape or form. Some have lost jobs, and some have lost loved ones. In times of uncertainty, one thing is for certain—we want Kao back home and need your help!
On September 21, Kao Saephan aka Waynehead, tested positive with Covid-19. While managing the virus at home, Kao suddenly became very ill and was rushed to the hospital and admitted to ICU where he was intubated and on a ventilator for nearly one month. Like many Covid-19 patients on a ventilator, he experienced the lowest of lows where doctors were not sure if he would return home to his wife and two young girls. Throughout his journey, Kao’s family and friends never gave up on him.
Today (11/17), 47 days into the ICU, Kao is breathing with the help of a trach. Kao will be transferred to a long-term care facility in Portland, OR where he will relearn how to walk, talk, eat and regain the strength to come home to his wife and two young daughters.
Our Ask: If you’ve been wanting to help, now is the time! Kao, Liew and his family have not asked for financial assistance, but we want to help. We know many of you do, too, to help ease any burden so they can all focus on healing.
All donations will go directly to Kao’s family and will help with the following:
-Additional medical bills not covered by insurance.
-Transportation and/or accommodations for his family to be able to visit him.
-Any home renovations needed to accommodate Kao when he is able to come home and reunite with his loved ones.
Donate here on GoFundMe, or directly to Kao’s wife, Liew via Venmo at @LuLu_Saephan.
Stay in the Loop: We'll be updating this page with information about Kao's journey, directly from Liew. Please follow along here (and cut down on text messages to Liew!) if you'd like to stay informed.
Thank you for your love and support—let’s BRING KAO HOME!
