Bring Kona Home: Donate for Search Efforts
Donation protected
Hi friends & family! As most of you know, on the night of 10/5, my dog Kona went missing from the San Rafael Swell in Utah. Since then, I have been working with a professional trapper to try and locate him using feeding locations and stealth cameras. We have been going off little information, but have been optimistic that he is still alive in a nearby area. Last night, our stealth camera caught a coyote eating the food, meaning that Kona has most likely been pushed out of the canyon we had originally thought he was in. The campsite is close to a water source, and dogs are resourceful and can survive a long time in the wild. Our next steps are to hire a thermal droner and their scent-tracking dog to try and locate a general area of where he might be. The droner and his scent-tracking dog are experienced professionals and would be driving down from Cody, Wyoming. It is absolutely necessary for me to exhaust every option of finding him, so please consider donating.
Donations will go towards paying for professional assistance and resupplying any equipment (cameras, traps, batteries, etc.) to the trapper who has helped us so much already. If you are unable to donate, please share this with your networks Thank you all in advance! Hoping we can bring him home soon.
Kona is a family member, and the love of my life. For anyone who doesn’t know, I got Kona as a 5-week-old puppy when I was serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Tanzania. I brought him back to the US in March 2020 during a global evacuation. The past 10 days without him have been incredibly difficult, and I am trying everything that I can to bring him back.
