Bring Light to Patti’s Fight
Patti Rodriguez is a daughter, a mom, an aunt, a cousin, an educator and a friend to many. Most importantly, she is our sister, the middle of 3 daughters. Anyone who knows her knows she is beautiful, smart, hard-working and is always there when you need her. She is the first to step forward to help others in need. Her personality is larger than the small package that contains it. I don’t know of anyone else who can do more in one day. And man can she bake and craft like Martha Stewart. When life is hectic and you’re on the brink, she will show you the way and put it all into perspective. She may seem tough but she has a big heart. She has a contagious laugh and a smile that lights up a room. She is our precious sister.
2020 has been a year like no other. In July, Patti had been concerned about a lump she found in her breast. She went to the doctor hoping and praying it was nothing to worry about. Days later she would receive the devastating news…she has stage 2 breast cancer. Life would challenge her once again and there was no time to waste. Plans to cure the disease ensued. She has been through months of chemo treatments and procedures. All forced to endure on her own since the Covid-19 precautions do not allow anyone to accompany her in treatment facilities. The toughest procedures still lie ahead. Patti will soon be facing major reconstructive surgery and radiation therapy with months of physical therapy to follow. We are forced to support her from a distance because the pandemic prevents us from being by her side.
She is strong and like every fight she’s ever faced she is armed with her faith, courage and strength.
Now it is our turn, to be there for her, to be her light that guides her through this journey. We need your help alleviating some of the financial burden that comes with a cancer prognosis. Providing for her daughters is first and foremost but with a single, limited income and medical expenses it will be challenging. Patti has been on leave of absence from work since August. She has an underlying autoimmune disease that prevents her from working while going through her treatment. Her leave of absence will soon come to an end. She will not have the income to cover all her expenses. We have no doubt Patti will come out of this as the warrior we know her to be but she can not do this alone. She will need us to help her focus on the fight. Any amount you can give will go a long way. We appreciate your generosity. Please help us share her story. Help us bring Light to Patti’s Fight.
