Bring Lindsey's Dad Home for Life-Saving Treatment

If you know Lindsey, you know her mom and dad are her world! If you've seen her posts, her family needs your help! They are trying to get her dad out of the DR because of a horrific medical emergency! The family is being pushed around and having to hand out money just to get her dad any type of medical help. They need to life flight him out of the DR and to Vanderbilt to receive the best care. Please help her and the family get their dad back safe and in the best hands.

‼️3:45 pm update - He is currently on his way to the other hospital. Please PRAY they actually do what they say they will do. If they can just diagnose him and get him stable, the life flight crew can take a Southwest flight to assist him on the way home and that would be free (well, cost what a normal Southwest flight would cost. And that seems FREE to us at the moment).

An attempt to make everything more clear:

He is not stable enough to take a commercial flight. Medicare and the VA do not cover getting him back to the US.

The DR hospitals are familiar with the VA and filing veterans' charges with the VA, but they refuse to do that and are telling my mom they won't keep him or treat him without money. The first $10,000 they took was to be for keeping him and an endoscopy Thursday morning. The endoscopy still has not happened. They have demanded $16,000 more today to transfer him to another hospital. The ambulance to transfer him is still not there. It is a 3-hour ride. He will not get to the other hospital to get the endoscopy today. At best, he will get the endoscopy tomorrow. This man is literally BLEEDING TO DEATH and they keep demanding money before they'll even do a test to figure out what is causing the bleeding.

So almost $30k later, our only option is to get an air ambulance for around $50k (thank you for all the links - we have looked into all of them and they're all around the same price). If we could just get him to Miami, then life flight would be covered by Medicare to get him back to Vandy Nashville. Getting to Miami is about $39k. If the DR had used the $26k already paid to diagnose and fix him, he could fly commercial, but they haven't and they won't.

Angel Flight does not go outside the US.

Vandy Life Flight has a team ready to go get him. They are looking to charter a private jet. Right now, this is our cheapest option, but still about $35k to get him back home.

Again, the earliest Vandy is currently saying they could get him is (hopefully) Monday. So that still leaves 2 days of the hospitals in DR demanding $10k plus to simply keep him alive, not diagnose, or fix him.

We are BEGGING for prayers. Prayers that he makes it long enough for help to come, prayers that the hospital decides to do the right thing and charge the VA, and prayers that we all make it through this.

So far, we have no help from the embassy.
