Bring Lynn Holt home from India now

Dear Friends in yoga,

We hope you are all safe and healthy.

We are writing on behalf of our dear friend and colleague Lynn Holt, who lives in Pune and is part of the Ramamani Iyengar Yoga Institute team.


Lynn is still in Pune during a time of great social chaos in India, where she is facing strict quarantine and enhanced suspicion of foreigners, all as a result of the worldwide pandemic. Not only that, Lynn was injured in an motorcycle accident in early March. Although she is fine, she has an injured her leg, which prevented her from traveling back home to Australia sooner. She was unable to secure a flight back before the curfew imposed by the Indian Government and her existing return flight this month was cancelled by the airline.


For the time being, the curfew mandated by the Indian government is continuing, and we want to help Lynn get back home safely and as fast as possible.


The Australian government has arranged for a flight departing India to Australia for its citizens who are currently in India and need to travel back home. The cost of this flight and related travel expenses as well as medical expenses relating to her recent accident in India is approximately $5,000 USD (8,000 AUD). At present, Lynn does not have the resources to pay for this. It is really essential that she leave India now. This is the only flight that has been offered and there will not be others.


Due to these urgent circumstances, we are approaching your help to assist Lynn to take this flight. Even though this is a time of financial uncertainty and stress for all of us, we ask for this donation in the hope that we can support our friend in accordance with yogic values and principles.


We feel lucky, especially in these difficult days, to be a part of the global Yoga community, to be able to reach out to one another and offer support to those who need it.
