Bring Melissa Closer to Family for Better Recovery

Hello, on August 15th my mother was admitted to the hospital.

My name is Isaiah Garcia and I am the son of Melissa Garcia-Wolensky, she is who we are trying to raise money for. On August 13th, my mother, my grandmother, and I flew from Palm Springs, California to Texas to see my twin brother graduate from Air Force Basic Military Training. On our 2nd day to spend time with my brother, my mother became terribly ill. It all started in the morning when we woke up to go to see my brother in his parade ceremony for his graduation, my mother woke up with a headache and only a handful of minutes before we left our hotel she had mentioned her vision was acting up. When we had gotten in the taxi cab to go to the Graduation, she threw up and got sick and started to become unresponsive. Thankfully our taxi driver (Joseph) was an amazing help and turned the car around to go back to the hotel and helped us get her help right away. When we attempted to take her out of the car, her legs gave out and she became unresponsive and kept vomiting, thankfully the ambulance had arrived and had given her the treatment she needed. So as I, her 17-year-old son, rode in the ambulance with her, my grandmother went to my brothers graduation to inform him of what had happened and bring my brother to come see her in the hospital. At first, they had believed it to not be a very serious injury and my heart was relieved however not long after I was informed of the devastating news that she had suffered from a life-threatening stroke. My mother and I were transferred to a different hospital and that's where she is currently being treated. My brother and Grandmother had come to see her thanks to the help of our taxi driver Joseph who was a great help and very supportive of our family during this time. It was there at that hospital that we learned she suffered from an arteriovenous malformation or known as AVM. This is a tangle of blood vessels that create irregular connections between arteries and veins in the brain. They had found out she was bleeding in the brain and that she had to have emergency surgery to remove part of her skull or else she may not live. The surgery went well but recently she has suffered from a second stroke and we don’t know how she will do. The doctors say there is a chance of transporting her to a hospital closer to where our family all is which is California. I am currently in California due to having to go back to school while my grandmother is by my mom's side in Texas while she gets better. We are consistently praying for my mom to recover. She is a loving mother of an almost 18-year-old Air Force Airmen, an almost 18-year-old college student, a little girl who just started 1st grade for elementary school, and a daughter who is soon to start kindergarten. She is a wife to a hardworking man who is nothing but great to his family and she is a loving and caring friend to all around her. As her son, I can confidently say she is one of the best women I know.

We are trying to have my mom transported back to California by airplane, so that my mom can be closer to family which is better for healing.

We are asking for any donations that anyone can give. We also need much prayer.

Thank you in advance.
