Bring Molly & Ada home
Donation protected
Our hearts are heavy and full at the same time. Our goal of 10,000 has been reached. We are still not out of the woods with the financial toll this is taking on the family. Molly's parents and brother Christian Gruber will be heading to Nebraska to collect her belongings. Molly is home, but the reality of burying two family members in a months time, is a cost that cannot be foreseen, not to mention the financial burden of retaining attorneys in both Nebraska and California in attempts to bring sweet, innocent Ada back to her family. I ask that you continue to share this gofundme. I ask for prayers for this family and the many friends that are hurting. We cannot thank you ALL enough for the amazing work that had been done. Your donations are overwhelmingly appreciated beyond words. So much love in this sorrow time. Let's never forget the good times and love that was and is shared in this tragic time.It is with the heaviest of hearts that I must post this gofundme. Our beloved Molly Gruber was tragically shot and killed at the hands of her abusive partner, the father of her 2 year old daughter, Ada Leanne, last night, December 17th in Superior Nebraska.
Molly was only 35 years old, the baby seester to her three older brothers, Dennis, Jesse and Christian Gruber. Dennis had recently passed less than one month ago. Tragedy has struck this family twice, losing two children, the siblings losing two of their partners in crime, both Macy and Ada losing their mother and the extended family losing their niece, nephew, cousins, in-laws, Aunt, Uncle and extending to their friends outside of blood.
Her spirit was vibrant and full of excitement. If you encountered Molly, you were met with a bubbly, huggy, caring being who did not ever hold back her love. She felt deeply. Everything she did was passionate and Molly’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved her family with her whole being. Molly was a fighter, and she ultimately fought a battle against a monster that she could not escape.
Just one month ago, Sebastian came to Molly’s residence, where she lived with her parents, and threatened to take sweet Ada away from her if she didn’t go with him to Nebraska to live. At this time, Molly had been working relentlessly on bettering her life for her and her child. The police were called and ultimately she was denied having any rights and went with her soon to be murderer to Nebraska to live. Through the relationship, these two had gone through what we all assumed might just be the ups and downs of a partnership, but things became aggressive and violent as time progressed. He was a great manipulator and would physically hurt himself to make it look like she was the aggressor and keep eyes off of himself. These patterns continued on and on, until eventually, he threatened to take their one year old and flee to Nebraska, keeping Molly from their daughter if Molly did not go with him.
Needless to say, a domestic dispute ensued between the two, and Sebastian selfishly took Molly’s life, leaving her barely two year old daughter without a Mom or Dad. Ada is now in the temporary custody of Sebastian’s family in Nebraska. Now his family has Ada and we are in desperate attempts to bring Molly and her beautiful, innocent daughter Ada home to California, to be with the people who love her the most and will be able to tell her about how bright, shiny and beautiful her Momma was.
This will not be easy, as custody battles never are. We will need help with finances pertaining to family law expenses, as well as expenses for bringing Molly back to California to be laid to rest. Molly would want Ada home with her family, and this is exactly what we intend to do.
A tragedy like this is always shocking, yet domestic violence is so commonly overlooked. If you are or know someone who is suffering from abuse, please contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at (800) 799-SAFE.
